Richard was born in Ashford, Middlesex and developed an interest in music from an early age and started taking piano lessons at the age of 8. His interest in the organ in particular, developed from hearing the Church organ being played whilst singing in his school Christmas Carol concert and was particularly taken with the sound of the Theatre organ after hearing recordings of the Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer.

He currently tours with the brand new, top of the range AT-900C Roland Atelier instrument, on which he plays many different styles and types of music including Big Band, Orchestral and Theatre organ style. Previous instruments have included the Yamaha EL-90, EL-700 and EL-900 series, the Yamaha AR-100 and most recently the Roland Atelier AT-80SL.

He also is a keen theatre organ player and has played various organs around the country including the Stockport and Burton-on-Trent Town Hall Wurlitzers and also the Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer in Blackpool.

He also plays the pipe organ and piano for local churches for services and accompanying choirs for choral works and also for weddings including accompanying soloists.

Recently he has been receiving guidance and tuition from top organist Michael Wooldridge.

Aside from music, he has a strong interest in aviation and has had the opportunity to experience flying some small single and twin engined aeroplanes.
